D.J. MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music opens the fall season by welcoming Luciano Capomassi and Martin Fredes for their first appearance on the label. Based in Argentina and Spain respectively, both Luciano and Martin have gotten their production careers off to an impressive start. Although less than five years into their journey, the duo boasts a combined discography highlighted by releases via AMITABHA, Droid9, RYNTH, The Purr and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden. Often finding the creative space between progressive and organic house, Luciano and Martin now combine their extensive forces for the first time, making their SLC-6 Music debut with 'Midnight Mirage', alongside a remix from Weird Sounding Dude. Further diversifying their portfolio, Luciano and Martin craft an uplifting progressive groover that both new and old fans of the genre will appreciate. Aimed squarely at the dancefloor, the duo's smooth chugging basslines, hopeful pads and emotive melodies unite in a colourful marriage, ultimately leading to a captivating break. Percolating rhythms, tasteful overlays and sweeping effects take centrestage across the interlude, before warm beats emerge from their progressive architecture, pushing onwards to a thrilling finale. As one of India's rising musical mavericks, Weird Sounding Dude has emerged from his country's electronic landscape as a premiere progressive house talent. Long a favourite of genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J and Cid Inc, the Bangalore resident often touches on disparate themes and sounds, straddling the divide between intergalactic design and groove-centric hypnotism. With a career that now spans a decade, Weird Sounding Dude has compiled an impressive discography with standout releases via Anjunadeep, Hoomidaas, The Soundgarden and Sudbeat Music. Now, making his SLC-6 Music debut, Weird Sounding Dude puts his inimitable production touch on 'Midnight Mirage'. Warm basslines and rebounding rhythms set the course for snatches of metallic arps, siren-like sonics and bright percussive arrays. A gorgeous contrast from the Indian artist, and one which is explored further across a cosmically correct break. A haze of trailing effects sets the backdrop for percolating clusters to build tension with each successive pass, before Weird Sounding Dude's progressive attitude reveals itself during a commanding drop and groove-centric finale.
