D.J. MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music opens the month of September by welcoming Platon (RU) back to the label for a new single. As one of his country's most recognized progressive house producers, Russian artist Platon has had a strong five-year run. Arey, Eternal Beats and Stellar Fountain's Black division have served as homes for his nostalgic take on the progressive genre. However, the Moscow resident's greatest successes have come courtesy of SLC-6 Music, where he has released two well-received single's across a six-month stretch, the most recent of which was 'Elen' which landed earlier this year. Now, continuing to build a bond with the label, Platon returns to SLC-6 Music with 'Pu 94', alongside remixes from Astral Base, Digital Mess and Home Shell and Olven. Continuing to explore darker monochromes, 'Pu 94' aims squarely at the dance floor with a tough prophetic vibe. Punchy kick drums, chunky bass lines and captivating vocal samples set the course astral stabs and orbiting atmospheres to create an ominous yet groovy canopy of sound. The first remix is provided by Astral Base who returns to the label following projects for Beatfreak and ICONYC Noir. Adding depth to the release, the Moscow resident ups the energy with hip-swinging grooves and a greater emphasis on vocal and melody, making for a perfect peaktime option. SLC-6 Music regular Digital Mess provides the second interpretation following releases for Mango Alley and Univack. Always a creative remixer, Digital Mess brings a spacious groove-based approach making great use of the vocal and otherworldly effects for an undeniably cosmic rework. The release concludes with Home Shell and Olven rounding out the release with a deeper, techno-inspired rendition, where rough warehouse beats meet acidic meanderings and ethereal vocals in a trippy seven-minute journey for the ages.
